- Experimental application To determine aggregate resistance to fragmentation. Technical details Los Angeles Abrasion Machine, complies with ASTM /AASHTO / EN standards, rotates on its horizontal. The machine consists of a rolled steel drum with an inner diameter of 711 mm and inner length of 508 mm. The drum is rotated by a speed reducer driven by an electric motor at a speed of between 31 and 33 rpm. The machine shall be equipped with an automatic counter (digital counter) which can be used to set the required number of revolutions of the drum. Supplied with tray for specimen unloading. Power =750W 220-240V, 50Hz, 1ph. Shall be supplied with a safety/noise reduction and fitted inside a noise reduction and safety cabinet. a noise reduction and safety cabinet shall be with door opening switch for Los Angeles machine. Abrasion balls and 1.6 mm, 10mm, 11.2mm (or 12.5mm)and 14 mm sieves acc. to EN standard, Abrasion balls, 1.7 mm (No.12) sieve and other sieves which chance depending the grain size acc. to ASTM and AASHTO standards.
