SPECIFICATION

Thickness is defined as the distance between the upper and lower surfaces of the materials, measured under a specified pressure. In order to determine the compressibility it is important to measure the thickness under a range of pressure; the thickness is generally depend on the pressure.Test specimens are taken from various locations across the full width of the sample geotextile. The specimens are placed on a flat planar surface. A circular presser foot is lowered onto the geotextile for a pre-determined time. The nominal thickness of each geotextile is then recorded and the sum total averaged to determine the mean thickness under the prescribed pressure. Test Standard : BS EN ISO-9863-1: 2005
