SPECIFICATION

The didactic bench must make it possible to achieve the following pedagogical objectives:
• Familiarization with RF components in waveguides;
• Study of the GUNN oscillator;
• RF power measurement;
• Measurement of the wavelength and frequency of an RF wave;
• Attenuation measurement and variable attenuator calibration;
• Study of standing waves Measurement of the standing wave ratio SWR,
• Measurement of the reflection coefficient;
• Measurement of an impedance;
• Impedance adaptation;
• Reading of the law of an RF detector;
• Characterization of microwave components (directional coupler, PIN detector)
• Study of propagation and antennas;
• Microwave optics.
The bench must guarantee the following performances
• Frequency range: X band (between 8 GHz to 1.2 GHz);
• Component type VVR90 standard rectangular waveguide;
• Quality of components: the components must be of high quality;
• Ease and speed of assembly of components
• The operation of the bench must be assisted by a computer led by software allowing the acquisition, processing and display of data;
• Experimental measurements the measurements must be carried out via a graphic interface which integrates the functionalities of the following instruments: power meter, SWR meter, oscilloscope, ammeter and voltmeter;
• Display The software must allow, via the graphic interface, the visualization of the data, plotting of the curves (XY) and the saving of the data;
The bench must be delivered with:
• A computer with preinstalled software compatible with Windows 10 or higher
• A course support and detailed guide of the experiments;
• CD/DVD containing the user manual for the devices supplied;
• CD/DVD containing the acquisition interface operating software;
• All the equipment necessary for the operation of the bench (GUNN power supply, acquisition system, etc.);
• A storage case.
