SPECIFICATION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR 30kVA DIESEL ENGINE GENERATOR CHATO AIRPOT ft

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.0 INTRODUCTION

  • This specification covers provision of Diesel Engine Generators set complete with automatic
  • Changeover switch (ATS). The diesel engine generator and the generating set as a whole shall
  • be rated for 400VAC, 3phase, 50Hz, 30kVA rated prime power capacity.
  • The DEG set shall be capable of delivering 30kVA at prime power under worse case conditions.
  • 1.1 Scope of work:
  • The Specification covers supplying of Diesel Engine Generator 30kVA Prime rated @ 1500
  • rpm, 50Hz, 380-415Volts, 3phase 4 wire and 0.8 pf protected with a sound proof canopy, on
  • skid with base service fuel tank of at least 500Litres capacity, complete with all standard
  • instruments, AMF control, associated accessories and Automatic changeover Switch (ATS)
  • 1.2 Composition:
  • The Diesel Engine Generator (DEG) unit shall comprise of the following: Diesel Engine
  • Generator set, automatic transfer switch/Changeover switch (ATS), fuel tank, Exhaust system,
  • starter battery, battery charger and Outdoor whether protection and sound attenuating Enclosure.
  • Suitable rated surge arrestors (63 k amp or above) shall be provided to the mains input for
  • protection against lightning strikes.
  • The DEG hall be supplied as a complete set.

2.0 Protection

  • The engine shall be protected against low oil pressure, high engine temperature, engine
  • under/over speed, under/over voltage and cooling system failure, battery charge failure, and low
  • fuel level. Protection devices shall give visual indication and facilities for external alarm.

3.0 Diesel Engine:

  • The diesel engine shall comply with the specified International IEC standards or equivalent
  • international standards and shall be of water cooled.
  • The engine shall incorporate instrument panel with the following meters and control: -
  • a) Oil pressure — switch and gauge
  • c)Hours-run meter
  • d)Stop button
  • e)Temperature switch and gauge
  • 3.1 The engine shall be fitted with a residential type of silencer to reduce noise. Anti pollution
  • device shall be fitted in the exhaust system as optional requirement
  • 3.2 Automatic lubricating oil top up system shall be incorporated in the engine to reduce oil change
  • intervals, thus allowing maintenance intervals hours.

4.0 Cooling system

  • The cooling system shall be filled with chemically treated coolant. Rotating parts shall be
  • guarded against accidental contact in accordance with standard requirements.
  • 4.1 Exhaust system
  • The Engine shall be efficiently silenced and be complete with primary and terminal silence
  • arrangements

5.0 Control equipment for the Engine Generator

  • The control panel shall perform automatic control and monitoring of the engine generator set, .
  • Such functions shall include but not limited to the following: -
  • •Start the engine to supply AC power to the load when mains power falls outside the
  • desired value and stop the engine when mains power restored to normal condition.
  • •Stop the engine to protect it from damage when any of the protection devices is actuated.
  • •Display locally the status of engine generating and mains power condition. Among the
  • indicators shall include meters to visually monitor out-put voltage, frequency, load
  • current, starter battery charging current and voltage and hour run meter. Meters shall
  • have an accuracy of + 2% or better.
  • •Engine control shall have AMF control and remote supervision function, shall have the
  • capability of storing data.
  • 5.1 The control panel shall incorporate the under mentioned switches: -
  • a)Phase selector switches for voltmeter/ammeter for mains and generator power
  • b)Battery charge control switch
  • c)Duty selector switches (AUTOMATIC/MANUAL).
  • d)Plant control switch (OFF/TEST/MANUAL/AUTOMATIC)
  • e)Load transfer switch, electrically and mechanically interlocked.
  • f)A push button fault resets switch.
  • 5.2 Indications and Alarms.
  • The following indicators and alarms shall be provided: -
  • a)i) MAINS on LOAD light
  • ii) STANDBY LOAD indicators
  • b)Plant failure indicator lamp and alarm terminals.
  • c)MINOR alarm signal (without stopping the engine).
  • i)LOW FUEL LEVEL
  • ii)BATTERY CHARGER FAILURE
  • iii)CONTROL CUBICLE ON MANUAL CONTROL
  • iv)MAINS FAILURE
  • d) MAJOR alarm signal and engine shut down at:-
  • i)ENGINE FAILURE, after three start attempts
  • ii)LOW OIL PRESSURE
  • iii)ENGINE OVERHEAT
  • iv)ENGINE OVER SPEED, due to governor failure
  • v)FREQUENCY TOO LOW
  • vi)UNDER VOLTAGE, due to AVR. failure
  • vii)OVER VOLTAGE, due to AVR failure
  • viii)OVER CURRENT at 115%
  • x) COOLING SYSTEM FAILURE
  • The Engine shall be fitted with device which will shut off the fuel supply to the engine
  • when any of the specified alarm conditions occur.
  • 5.3 Alarm signals shall be transmitted to remote control office either individually or suitably
