SPECIFICATION

Description:

  • Expansion processes for an ideal gas consist of one connected solid cylinder equipped for operation under pressure and the other under vacuum an air compressor is used on top of the cylinder to allow the appropriate vessel to be pressurized or emptied. Each vessel is subject to changes in the properties of the air present in all acrylic vessels.

Experimental capabilities:

  • Analysis of changes in pressure in processes and application of the first law of thermodynamics.
  • The relationship between pressure, volume, and temperature can be explored and used to determine other thermodynamic properties.
  • Calculation of the expansion ratio of an ideal gas.
