The  panels made in metal case with bench support and the electrical scheme on the front board shall allow the experimental study of the FM modulation-demodulation techniques and the comparison between Frequency and Phase Modulation. The panel shall enclose in its modules some circuits of FM/PM modulators and demodulators commonly met in practice, carried out in circuit configurations suited to educational purposes. The same panel shall include a low frequency generator, which can be used as test modulating signal generator, and a noise generator, which will allow experiments to be performed for testing the angle modulation performances against the noise. Theoretical recalls: 1. Angular modulation  2. Frequency modulation 3. Phase modulation 4. Spectrum and side bands in the angular modulation, Circuits of the panel Frequency and Phase Modulations: 1. Varicap modulator 2. Phase modulator 3. Elementary FM demodulator 4. Foster-Seeley discriminator.

Technical Features:

• The board shall include, besides several modulator and demodulator configurations, a testing tone generator and a high frequency noise generator to simplify the performance of the exercises.
• The working frequency of the circuits of the board shall be between 500 and 1500 KHz.
• Power supply: +15 Vdc, 300 mA.

With this module it must be possible to perform the following exercises:

• Study of the Varicap modulator
• Study of the phase modulator
• Study of the elementary FM demodulator
• Study of the Foster-Seeley discriminator
• Performances of the angle modulation in the presence of noise.
