Motor Control AC Drives Trainer (Inverter & Cycloconverter)
The trainer must demonstrate AC motor control using inverter-based variable frequency drive (VFD) technology.
- The system must include:
- Single-phase and three-phase inverter modules
- PWM control circuits with adjustable switching frequency
- Built-in protection (overcurrent, short circuit, thermal protection)
- The trainer shall include a three-phase induction motor with load mechanism (mechanical or electrical) for performance testing under variable speed.
- The trainer must allow students to observe output waveforms, including PWM signals, line voltage, and inverter phase voltage using test points.
- The system shall provide a functional cycloconverter demonstration module showing frequency reduction and phase control principles.
- The trainer must enable configuration of forward–reverse, acceleration–deceleration control, ramp control, torque characteristics, and speed–frequency relationship.
