Motor Control AC Drives Trainer (Inverter & Cycloconverter)
The trainer must demonstrate AC motor control using inverter-based variable frequency drive (VFD) technology.
The system must include:
Single-phase and three-phase inverter modules
PWM control circuits with adjustable switching frequency
Built-in protection (overcurrent, short circuit, thermal protection)
The trainer shall include a three-phase induction motor with load mechanism (mechanical or electrical) for performance testing under variable speed.
The trainer must allow students to observe output waveforms, including PWM signals, line voltage, and inverter phase voltage using test points.
The system shall provide a functional cycloconverter demonstration module showing frequency reduction and phase control principles.
The trainer must enable configuration of forward–reverse, acceleration–deceleration control, ramp control, torque characteristics, and speed–frequency relationship.
