Motor Control DC Drives Trainer
The trainer must demonstrate the basic operating principles of DC motors, including armature voltage control and field control.
The trainer must include a DC motor with transparent or open-type casing for clear visualization of commutator, brushes, and rotor movement.
The trainer set shall include modules for:
Uncontrolled rectifier (diode-based) for basic DC motor control
Controlled rectifier (SCR-based) for variable voltage DC motor drive
DC chopper (step-down and step-up) using power transistor / MOSFET switching
The system must provide terminals for real-time measurement of voltage, current, torque, and speed, enabling analysis of DC motor characteristics.
The trainer must allow students to construct, modify, and troubleshoot DC drive circuits using modular components and safety-protected connectors.
The trainer shall support experiments related to braking, speed control, efficiency analysis, and load/no-load performance of DC motors.
