55792 Experimental Set-Up has been designed specifically to determine resistance & current sensitivity of moving coil galvanometer by Kelvin’s method using Post Office box. The set-up consists of Post Office Box, Galvanometer, Decade resistance box, Leclanche cell, D.C. voltmeter, Reversing switch, Plug key, etc.
The set-up is complete in all respects and requires no other apparatus. Practical experience on this set up carries great educative value for Science and Engineering Students.
 
OBJECT
  1. To determine the resistance of moving coil galvanometer by Kelvin’s method using P.O. Box.
  2. To determine the current sensitivity of moving coil galvanometer.
 
FEATURES
The complete Experimental Set-up consists of the followings :
  1. POST OFFICE BOX (Dial type): The unit consists of the following built in parts :
    • Four series dials of units, tens, hundreds and thousands.
    • Two ratio arm dials each having connection for 1, 10, 100 and 1000 ohms.
    • Terminals for connecting the Galvanometer and battery externally.
    • Range of measurement from .001 ohms to 1111000 ohms.
    • Resistance of 1 watt each, with accuracy of ±1%.
    • Two Push to ON switch with two terminals each for easy connections.
  2. GALVANOMETER 50-0-50 
  3. D.C. VOLTMETER 1.5V 
  4. DECADE RESISTANCE BOX  with 30 steps, 10 to 11,100 ohms.
  5. Leclanche Cell or substitute Cell Eliminator O.
  6. REVERSING SWITCH
  7. PLUG KEY, 1 way
  8. PATCH CORD & CONNECTING WIRES
