The system offers the possibility of controlling the speed of an AC motor (possibly an asynchronous motor or a small induction motor) by using a TRIAC regulator. By controlling the discharge angle, the voltage applied to the motor and thus the speed are varied.
Relevant technical specifications (estimated):
TRIAC-based control circuit
Variable control of the tripping angle
Overload protection panel
Measurement points for current, voltage, control angle
Educational applications:
Speed ??control of small AC motors
Analysis of the relationship between the control angle and the motor response
Study of the limitations and efficiency of TRIAC control
