USB to Serial Converter for communication
- A USB to serial converter is a protocol adapter that allows modern computers to communicate with legacy or specialized serial devices via a USB port. It creates a "virtual COM port" on your computer, which software can then use as if it were a traditional serial port.
- Virtual COM port: When the converter is plugged in and its drivers are installed, the operating system creates a virtual COM (communication) port. This allows legacy software designed for serial communication to interact with the device through the USB port.
