SPECIFICATION

Description:

The compact load and radiator unit consists of a vertical-channel centrifugal fan mounted to the top of the pulverized cylinder. The surface of the cylinder is coated with a heat-resistant coating that provides a constant emission near the unit. The temperature sensors are attached to the wall of the cylinder to allow measurement of the surface temperature under various operating conditions. A fan is used variable air flow through the duct and a vane-type device is used to measure the air velocity in the device.

Experimental capabilities:

  • Determination of heat transfer by radiation and convection from a horizontal cylinder.
  • Show the relationship between the input energy and the surface temperature in free convection.
  • Comparing the contribution of heat transfer through thermal inertia with heat transfer through radiation and from measurements to show the effect of the heat transfer factor on low temperature surfaces.
  • Determining the effect of forced convection on the transfer of heat from the surface of the cylinder at different air speeds and surface temperatures to prove the relationship between air velocity and surface temperature of the cylinder subjected to forced convection.
