55768 Experimental Set-Up has been designed specifically to verify the Malus law (cosine square law) for plane polarised light with help of a photo voltaic cell. The set-up consists of a Optical Bench Photo voltaic cell, Halogen lamp, Convex lens, Microammeter, Polariser and Analyzer etc. 
The set-up is complete in all respect and requires no other apparatus. Practical experience on this set-up carries great educative value for Science and Engineering Students.
 
OBJECT
  1. To verify the Malus law (Cosine square law) for plane polarised light with the help of a photo voltaic cell.
 
FEATURES
The complete Experimental Set-up consists of the following :
  1. Optical Bench : Two 100 cm long steel rods 1/2” dia. forming a bench with end supports having levelling screws. One of the two steel rods is graduated in cm and mm. It has five riders, three with transverse motion. Complete with one lens holder.
  2. Halogen Lamp with house. 
  3. Double convex lens (50mm dia & F.L.10cm).
  4. Polariser and Analyzer fitted at the ends of a metallic tube. Both are capable of rotation about a common axis. The rotation can be read on a graduated circular scale 360° provided with each of them.
  5. Photo voltaic cell house in colorimeter.
  6. Microammeter having 0 – 50uArange.
  7. Weight : 7.2 Kg. (Approx.)
