Vapour Absorption Refrigeration System
The objectives are to demonstrate the basic principle of an absorption refrigeration system and to study the operating behaviour of a Vapor Absorption Refrigeration System (VARS) under varying load conditions. Main System Components Evaporator, absorber, tank, boiler with bubble pump to separate the ammonia, condenser, displays and controls. Adjustable electrical heater (capacity between 45 to 55 W) at the evaporator should serves as a cooling load. The boiler shall be equipped with an electrical heater of capacity 120-130 W (mandatory requirement). In addition, provision shall be made for heating through a gas burner with its all accessories (propane, operating pressure 30-50 mbar) as an optional/desirable feature. Digital displays for temperature and power. The equipment shall be complete for efficient operation. Any component/device essential for proper functioning, even if not explicitly mentioned in the specification, shall be provided by the supplier. The provision must be there to perform the above objective with necessary safety devices. Preference may be given to vendors who have supplied (in the last 10 years) similar systems to IITs/NITs, or reputed institutions in India/Asia. Vendors claiming such preference must submit relevant supply/completion certificates or purchase orders as evidence. Refrigerants (working fluid)
Ammonia-water solution as a working medium, hydrogen as auxiliary gas Measuring ranges Temperature: four independent sensors (high accuracy), channels, or measurement points, each capable of measuring temperatures within -80 to 180°C. Power: 0 to 150 W
