Pitot Tube Apparatus
Description:
The Pitot Tube Apparatus is designed to measure the local velocity of fluid at a specific point within a flow stream. The setup includes a standard Pitot tube made from copper or stainless steel (SS), mounted below a Vernier scale for precise vertical positioning within a transparent pipe section.
A U-tube manometer is included to measure the velocity head. The transparent pipe section is equipped with a flow control valve to regulate water flow. The entire setup is a self-contained, water re-circulating unit, complete with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump. Additional flow control and bypass valves enable experiments at various flow rates. The flow rate is measured using a measuring tank and stopwatch.
